I went to work for C R England and was "recruited" fresh out of orientation by a L/O who promised me decent pay, non-stop miles, and good working conditions. This lasted for three months before things headed south, and after six weeks of rudeness and really bad treatment, I asked to be dropped off at the SLC terminal. I'm a good and conscientious driver—no accidents, no incidents— and had NEVER been told in C R England orientation that I was violating company policy by being dropped off while we were under a load. When at the terminal, I told the people in charge why I wanted to get off the truck. Since we'd been going non-stop for three months, they told me to take some home time and they'd call me. I was NEVER, NEVER told that I was fired. I was never called at all!
I applied to another company, who picked me up right away. As I was about to get my truck, C R England called the new company and told them that I'd been fired. I had actually put down on my application that they could call C R England!
My new DM, who's probably now my ex-new DM, told me that they'd hire meat the new company if I could get C R England to take this off my report. My DAC is perfectly clean, but the DM said that no-one would ever touch me again if C R England wouldn't remove this crap from my record. C R England is notorious for doing this kind of thing. I don't know what to do. I'm a good driver and love to drive, but it seems that C R England can destroy your life in a heartbeat.
DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE RECRUITERS AND THE PROMISES! They'll tell you anything to get you running for them. They'll run you ragged, fire you for a company policy you were never told about, AND NOT EVEN TELL YOU THAT YOU'RE FIRED!!!
