Warranty Ripoff, Paint Coming Off New Ca

During December I noticed a discoloration and small bubbles in the paint on the front edge of the hood of the vehicle. I took the car to Regal Nissan in Roswell, GA on January 9th to have the hood repainted under the factory warranty. They stated that Nissan would send a paint inspector to examine the vehicle and make a determination on my claim. An appointment was set for January 15th to meet the inspector at the dealership.

The following week, I called Regal Nissan to find out the results, I was told the claim was denied because the vehicle had already been repainted. I have never had any bodywork done on this vehicle including paint. I explained this to the service manager and he told me to contact my selling dealer.

On January 27th I drove the car back to Neil Huffman Nissan in Louisville, KY, where I purchased the car, and explained the situation to the sales manager. He examined the car as well as the body shop manager and they both stated they saw no evidence that the car had been repainted and it appeared to be a factory defect of some type. I asked them to contact Nissan and help me get this situation resolved, and they agreed.

They have not contacted me even after leaving several messages. On February 12th I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs to discuss the issue. After explaining the entire situation I was told there was nothing I could do, that the inspectors report could not be overturned and they would not cover repainting the hood.
