I had been looking online for a car and thought I had found the perfect one at local used car dealer. After checking out the car, I was handed the financing application and the instructions for insuring the vehicle before pick up. Don Fulcher, Salesman, proceeded to tell me that I would need to leave him a cash deposit of $450. He handed me my reciept, we shook hands and i left. I ran into some unexpected expenses over the next few weeks, and my bank account did not look as I had planned... It was a struggle but with in 6 weeks to the day, I had put together the rest of the deposit. I was trilled to think i could return to work and my $ would no loger be sooo tight. I finally got a ride to take the remaining deposit up to the dealership after several conversations with Don about delaying my taking possession of the car due to the $ issues. He refused payment, told me he needed time to consult the finance department and asked that I call tomorrow about the status, that may be I might have to get into a different car, but he'll work it out... And I gave him the finance application.
I was a little bummed, but at least I was getting a car right? WRONG! When zI called him today he says there is nothing he can do about the car, it had another deposit already placed on it and the layaway was only good for 30days and you forfeit it. Mind you I have nothing that states the 30 day or forfeit policy, and the car that is supposedly in layaway now for another buyer, is sitting in the front row for prospective buyers to consider...
Then he started slipping up... I called back the carlot and asked for the finance department, and one lady tells me shes out, I called a little later, and come to be that Mr Don Fulcher IS the Finance department that had accepted a downpayment with out an approval or denial on the finance app, the same finance department that wouldn't consider applying the $450 to another car. The "finance Department " that couldn't or wouldn't inform a customer that they were in Jeopardy if loosing their deposit... H and the best yet... He informs me that i never would have qualified for financing in the first place
This is Obsurd... I totally understand not wanting to give a cash refund, but i cant believe that a company wouldn't apply it to another car, or since they took my money when I didnt qualify in the beginning, they really should hand back my cash.
I hate nothing more than a THIEF, and I hope No One ever has to deal with these crooks! Im calling channel 4, and all other services possible to expose them to the world
