For a person that wants any restoration done to thier car i would never recommend buffalo resto. First you can tell them how much you want to spend but that means nothing to them. You sign a very long cntract that so much as gives them carte blanche. They will not give you an estimite i took my 1956 chevy nomad to them to have the engine pulled and fix a rear main seal leak, paint the engine well and under the hood, install an after market tilt column and power steering (which i bought).
Well, 30,00 dollars later it's done. If anyone knows cars they know i got ripped off. They painted the under hood fine, it was everything else that went wrong. First the engine crank had scaring so it was finaly sent a machine shop for polishing. The motor only had 1000 miles on it. So the engine gets back and then it begins. Three weeks and a day to put this thing back together and at 80 dollars an hour and sometimes two poeple working on it, you can imagine how miffed i am. I tried to talk to the owner but i guess he couldn't be botherd so i was stuck with the shop forman bob hoober who could only say, it takes what it takes. I mean while i am paying them 4 to 5 thousand dollars a week. Every time i ask for a break down they know exacally how to explain everything so you do really don't know what they are saying. You don't know if double billed for things or your are charged for hours no work was done. When i picked the car up they were charging the battery so i get car home and there is battery acid in the tray on my chrome valve cover, three of the wires and frame. Call buffalo up and it's not their fault. Recommendation, don't use buffalo!
