I was almost a victim to Jennifer's scam. But thanks to Google and the complaint, I was informed and did not complete the transaction. We have been looking for cars for a while on craigslist.com. And the best deal came up. We responded to a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse for $2900. She posted pictures of a nice car.
Jennifer responded back with her story of how she wanted to just get rid of the car because it belonged to her late husband who died 4 months ago in Iraq. I truely felt sorry for this woman at first. The car brought "bad memories" - you'd think they would be sad memories. She said she was going to give the money to a war victims foundation.
The car was in storage and she would have it shipped to me. She e-mailed me invoices and craigslist transaction paperwork. This info told me that the car was on the other side of the country. Many people told me it sounded "fishy".
I just thought I would "google" her name and sure enough, the same story just a different car. A BIG "Thank you" to the other two victims that reported this. You have stopped me from losing money and hopefully other people will benefit from this.
