Cory Fairbanks Mazda Longwood
Sales-deceptive, Parts - good people

I have bought two vehicles from Cory Fairbanks Mazda, in 2000 and 2004. The 2000 purchase was terrible and we got ripped off with price and financing (we turned in a lease car that my wife got conned into) We had to return several times to sign new finance agreements (luckily the interest rates were lower each time) but we still ended up paying over $17,000 for a $12,000 car

In 2004 I needed a new vehicle but had some idea of what to expect. Buying on 29th Feb was a good idea as sales has to meet end of month quotas, short month, not long after Christmas when most people are 'broke'. I negotiated what I think was a good deal, they lowered price by over $4,000, I ended up paying $11,996 for a Mazda B2300, the ads were showing $9,999, with an extra $1,000 for AC so they didn't make too much off me?

If you are able in any way, get finance from an outside source, your insurance company or whoever, sign their (Fairbanks) finance deal as 'they' intend to ge the cash back for 'discount' from the finance company high interest which was over 17% in or case (make sure-in writing on contract there isn't any early payment fee) return 24 hrs later and clear finance. This bumps up your credit score dramatically.

The service department left my truck running on max AC when doing a seat repair under warranty (which is bad for the engine-idling for I don't know how many hours with a load which can lower oil pressure and cause engine damage)

I haven't had too many problems yet, but, I don't do high mileage. You have to be prepared to walk away if something doesn't seem right or your not happy.

I must however praise the parts department.
They are very knowledgeable and I have found genuine Mazda to be, in many (most?) cases, cheaper than aftermarket or pattern parts. They do have special deals which keeps me going there.

I was very unhappy with the way Fairbanks treated me in service department and have not been there for service since I found out about the Magnus-Moss act. The parts people somewhat make up for the service/sales departments, they have always been professional.
Unfortunately, this wont help anyone who is unable to do their own servicing though.
