Kept sending me to collections even though I was sent statements by them

My situation is a little different than normal. It all started when I lost my job about a year and a half ago. I was sent to collections for my Les Schwab bill because I didn't have the money.in march of 08 I called Les Schwab to reinstate my account and start making payments. We missed one month in that time because our payment was only. 15 and because of that Les Schwab resent us to collections.

Fine, if that is what they want to do I guess they can. That isin't my problem with them, my problem is after they sent us to collections they kept sending us statements for us to pay them. All this time I though my account was in good standings and everything was fine. WRONG, we really were sent to collections. Today I was served papers from the collection agencies lawyer. Now I have to pay double of what I owed all because of their screwed up system.

I spoke to Mindy at Les Schwab and she said it is corporate policy to keep sending the consumer statements even though their account has been sent to collections.

I totally disagree with this policy and I will never buy tires at Les Schwab again. They probably don't care but to me this is a big deal. We just had our first baby and she is 2 months old and now we have to come up with about $1000 by the end of the month.

I am not arguing the fact that I should have been sent to collections. Although missing a. 15 payment seems silly to me to send someone to collections. I am upset that they keep sending statement to their customers who are in collections. Why would they accept my money? Why didn't they call me to tell me that my account was actually sent to collecdtions. I would have contacted the collection agency instead if I knew my account was really their and paid them, not Les Schwab. AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

To really aggrevate me, my wife spoke to the collection agency (real nice people) and they said that Les Schwab should not be sending us letters like that. He said he called them once before about this matter. He said he spoke to another lady who works their and she said all they had to do is "push a button" in the computer to stop the letters. Who is telling the truth?

That is my Beef with Les Schwab. Because of their screwed up policy and lack of communication with cutomers My bill went from $500 to $1000 and there was nothing I could have done to prevent this because I thought when I was making payment to Les Schwab my account was with them and not the collection agency.
