I filed a report on one of his 100 mile engines about a year ago but it is no where to be found. He sold me some scrap metal he said was a rebuilt engine. I filed a report with the BBB that had already given him a bad rating. His out right lies, both in person and over the phone were like none I have ever heard.
I was told by Chris the engine was destroyed by a lean mixture. From the start he had an answer for everything. I took this piece of scrap metal down to a major engine rebuilder here in Arizona and was told by the shop manager the engine damage could have been caused by a lean mixture but only under extream conditions and at least 5,000 miles.
This is when everything fell into place. The 4 trys it took to get it through emissions and then passing by only. 001. The "the engine is ready to drop in and go" only latter over the phone telling me no valve adjustment had been made. His " state of the art equipment and staff of highly trained professionals" Hey, I was there and one grease monkey with an impact wrench falls a little short of that statement.
Any way since Chris now has a good rating with the BBB and at least 2 more complaints against him my money is on he is now a member.
I come here to usacomplaints.com every couple of months to see how Chris is doing and from the reports I see it's business as usual. I real feel for the web designer as I remember when the sight first went up and I see today Chris is still using it to spread his dream of an engine rebuild utoipa. But I belive the sight should at least come with a warning lable.
I now have a late model vortex 350 and the truck is running fine. The engine he sold me I have saved it as one day soon I will park across the street from his state of the art shop with his state of the art impact wrench and state of the art grease monkey.in the bed of my truck will be the state of the art engine that Chris built for everyone to see. No one need take my word as I will bring blowup copies of signed statements of real trained professionals.
It doesn't have nothing to do with the money and never did. It's about honesty. I'll be the first to tell you even here at ripoff's the reports filed on you have some how gotten lost but some day all your ways will be your downfall.
