I purchased a vehicle summer 2007 from MCLS).
During the summer/fall of I paid for repairs to the radiator/hose/etc. Per MCLS, this was not related to the repairs they did prior to vehicle purchase.
The coolant level & oil warning lights on the dash kept coming on. Since I had already taken the vehicle back to MCLS numerous times, I took vehicle to a different dealership for a diagnostic. The result of the diagnostic was that the following items are needed -
oil level sensor - $285
coolant reservoir, upper radiator hose and t-stat - $720
The total cost of repairs will be approximately $1000.
I attempted to contact MCLS (Bridgeview, IL) about this matter and found out they have filed bankruptcy. The lot is vacant and no one answers the phone. You will get a voice mail instructing the caller to leave a message for a return call no later than Friday, 02/08.
I've left 3 messages and have not received a call back.
In order to keep my vehicle in running condition, I constantly added coolant to the radiator so the car will not overheat.
Since the oil level indicator comes on continually, I'm constantly checking my oil levels to make sure my car is not low on oil (this will cause the engine to lock up).
This vehicle is my primary means of transportation (bus service is not offered between my home and job) and bus service for errands and grocery shopping is nonexistent.
I have repair estimates for work that was paid for (and not done by MCLS) and the repair estimate for completed work by Peter Levin BMW. The remainder of work needed ($500) will be done once I have saved up the money.
I'm glad they are out of business so they can not rip off anyone else.
Does anyone know how we can get our money back?
