Asked for car back the day after driving it off the lot for "servicing" and switched tires from nice shiny ones with awesome tread to older, more used. Rust on underside of vehicle. Water or liquid stains inside vehicle

First off, I would like to state that my husband purchased this vehicle in his name, not mine. Since however he doesn't take this as seriously as I do and he purchased this car for my use, I am the one filing this report.

My husband purchased a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder from the Courtesy Ford lot in Port Townsend, WA. (turns out the actual seller is Courtesy Ford in Poulsbo, WA) on April 23rd of 2006 with a 90 day limited warranty on the vehicle.

I wasn't with him. He brought it home and I immediately went outside to see it. I thought it was gorgeous and couldn't believe he actually qualified for financing on an SUV.

The very first feature I noticed was that the tires had great tread and how shiny and beautiful they were. At first glance it was everything I had hoped for. What a beautiful car! Inside, and out.

Courtesy Ford called back later that day or the next and told my husband he needed to bring the car back the next day for "servicing". So he took the car back next day and off to work he went.

After we picked up the car later and drove it home, I noticed that these were not the same tires as the day before. These had much less tread on them and were not near as shiny, with white or light blue or green chalk marks on inside of tires.

I told my husband about this, and he, not liking to make a fuss over anything, said nothing more on the subject. So I kept my mouth shut at the time.

Occasionally though, I make comments here and there about how we've been "screwed" so many times by Courtesy Auto Group in general and how I loved the tires that were initially on the car, and that if he ever purchased another car from them I would divorce him (jokingly, although very serious about never doing business with them again).

Anyway, the first time I went to put something in back of the car, I noticed liquid stains on the carpeting. Then, the first time I cleaned the inside of the car I realized it (liquid staining) wasn't exclusive to the very back, that it was all over.

I then looked on the underside of the car and noticed a lot of reddish rusty colored stuff. I pointed all this out to my husband and he let it all pass without much more than a word. GRRR!

I then went to Experian's web site and got an AutoCheck Vehicle history report. Found out the car originated in (besides being made in Japan) New Jersey from 04/30 to 04/30. Car was reported as a leased vehicle on 04/30.

The car then appears to have changed ownership or went up for auction and went to Pennsylvania from 07/18 to 07/22.

On 08/17 the car was reported to be in the "Pacific Northwest Region" (event detail: Auction announced as Fleet/Lease), and on 08/21 was reported to be in Wenatchee, WA in Dealer Inventory.

Other than all that, the vehicle seems to have "checked out", but I still don't understand what appears to be rust and water damage. Maybe something unreported occurred?
