I found a vehicle on the texasdirectauto.com website which I was very interested in. I was told it would be taken off the market until financing could be lined up if I would place a $200 deposit. I did so, and in the process of doing my own investigation of the vehicle - discovered that the carfax report provided by texasdirectauto - Steve Steidley, was incomplete.
The car had a second owner which put 8,111 miles on the car in 24 days of ownership. When I confronted Mr. Steidley, he stated my carfax report could not be correct. I asked him why they would post carfax reports if they were incorrect. He had also told me the car had a cracked windshield and it would not be available for at least a week while they replaced the windshield and performed an alignment on the tires. A week sounded pretty lengthy for two fairly easy maintenance problems.
I looked carefully at the picture posted on the site and there was no crack in the windshield. When I confronted Mr. Steidley concerning the windshield, he stated that there was a "ding" in the windshield that would be repaired. I asked him if the picture of the car I was looking at was, in fact, the car I was interested in and he said Yes. I do not believe the picture was the car I was bidding on and feel I was lied to concerning the windshield and the fact that the car did not have 1 prior owner but 2.
Mr. Steidley was rude and his attitude was obtrusively rude. Everyone should be aware of this company and especially this car sales person - Steve Steidley. He is a liar and is not representing inventory honestly.
