Car Hop is auto sales. UAC is the finance company they affiliate with. Yes, this is upsetting and my own fault. I stressfully stand by this contract I signed at Car Hop in richfield. Only because my parents taught me to be consistant and be responsible in my choices I make no matter what they are.
This situation with Car Hop in Richfield, and now UAC (aledged finance company) located in Edina is definatly making me feel I have been taken advantage of. None of the occurences really hit home till a month after dealing with UAC did I realize what I have done or what they do. Dec I walked into Car Hop in richfield after a friend told me they finance cars for people who have bad credit. I spent 5 hours in the office and basically was told what car I could have based on my application.
The windshield wipers were rusty and broke. The radio attenna missing. I was tired and desperate I needed a car. I paid little attention to the problems I saw of the car, I figured I could buy winshield wipers and attenna at a low cost. I paid 1200 down for a 1996 dodge intrepid in lower than fair condition and then I paid 400.00 down payment to UAC a week later.
I want to mention they did not tell me how much I was paying till the contract was in front of me. Mind you I paid 1200 to car hop that day and my cost for the car was going to be 5300.00 paid in increments of 250.00 a month for two years. You have NO grace period, you CANNOT be late. Not even a day. They call you and harrass you everday if your late.
Not to mention all your referances get harrassed too. They tell you they are going to take the car even after being late 2 days. They are not nice either, they act like a collection agency who is verbally abusive and emotionally abusive. I am not a loser but after dealing with them, i sure feel like one. I placed myself in a bad situation.
As of feb (when my car payments of 250.00 started) My wife and I started a divorce procded, yep life happened. Money got tight, the car broke down, major problems, beaks went out after a month of having car. Air conditioner had no belt and was ceased. Car over heated needed a thermostat, engine is on all the time.
I have had the car for a little over a year and have paid 3000,00 for all the repairs it needed and quite honestly if I want to keep it running another year i will have to spend another 00 this year. I am late on my payments. I can't help it. I make 4000,00 dollars a month in my life and I have problems paying my bills with this company. Mainly because this darn car has became a princple. It should not be that way.
After this is all said and done I will have paid over 14000,00. This includes payments to car hop and uac and all the repairs to the car. Not to mention i think this year i have gone to the doctor more than ever for stress problems. Maybe it was my divorce:) or maybe its the car purchase.
