On 01/05/08 I test drove a Ford Escape. The salesman gave my husband and me the keys and told us to drive it as long as we wanted. We drove it to a local town (10 min) away to show our friends. When we opened the passenger door a switchblade was in plain view. I then proceeded to return the car to the dealership and was stopped by the local police because there was no vehicle ID on the car (no dealer plates, etc) The salesperson had not included paperwork in the car to show that the vehicle was being test driven and there were no dealer plates on the car. I was questioned and issued a warning (the police had thought it was a stolen vehicle). I immediately returned the vehicle to the dealership along with the warning ticket and the switchblade. The salesman was w/another customer and called me later in the day. I returned her call on 01/11/08 and explained what happened-she was rude, indifferent and said it was a customer service issue and hung up on me! Obviously all she wanted was a sale and when she realized she would not get a sale from me her true colors were shown. Customer service at its worst!!
