In December Keenan Auto Body picked up a vehicle from North East Auto Outlet (which was illegally towed to, to begin with) Keenan Auto Body informed the owner of the vehicle that the charge for the estimate would $45 by Mike.
(This was confirmed as the standard estimate fee also by calling one of their other auto body locations.) The 45th & Market Streets Keenan Auto Body location in Philadelphia, PA 19104, phone # (215) 386-6450, to be exact. There I spoke with the Customer Service Representative and was informed by a women (who's name I wont disclose. She is totally innocent in all of this) that their fee for an estimate was $40. Mmmm, $40 yet I was told it was $45, but it's the SAME COMPANY, within miles of each other??? Fine, $5, whatever, its five buck right? NO! Its only $40 if Keenan gets to do the work. If you find it cheaper elsewhere, its whatever Keenan Auto Body wants to charge. They WILL hold your car hostage too inorder to get money from you.
6 Long days later, Keenan Auto Body finally got an actually estimate on the vehicle. SIX DAYS LATER! The damage was reported at $750 to replace a strut and alignment. WHAT?!?!? Yes, $750 dollars. This was given by MARC CARLIN.
Always get more then one estimate. Right, thats what they say. So I did. Calls were made to friends of friends and other auto body shops where the consensus was made that Keenan Auto Body shop was overcharging. No big deal, right? You figure, I did some shopping around and just found a better deal. NOPE!
The owner of the vehicle calls back Mark Carlin the Estimator of Keenan Auto Body to inform Marc Carlin that the vehicle would be taken elsewhere due do the better deal found. Marc Carlin stated, How do they even know what's wrong with the vehicle? They have seen it yet? I said, because I took the information you gave me last night and shopped around. Marc Carlin immediately becomes hostile and began naming other damages to the vehicle that were not previously disclosed to the owner of the vehicle. (MMM SHADY)
The owner of the vehicle talks patiently to Marc Carlin asking why didn't he disclose this information last night? Marc Carlin stated that he was in this business for 20 years and that he knew what he was doing. (So I guess I didnt deserve to know the FULL details of the estimate) The vehicle owner stated that Marc should have just disclosed those damages from the beginning. Marc Carlin got so frustrated they he insisted the car be picked up ASAP. He actually screamed, PICK UP YOUR CAR!
Why so hostile? Read on...
The owner of the vehicle makes arrangements for the car to be taken to the less expensive auto body shop of $440. When the tow truck goes to Keenan's to pick up the vehicle, Marc Carlin and Frank Giuliano, the Location Manager, REFUSE to give the car to the to the tow truck service. Keenan stated that they were owed money. The owner of the vehicle contacts Marc Carlin / Frank Giuliano to make payment arrangements. All of the sudden the fee is now $94.16 for the estimate. WHAT?!?!? Now, at their other locations, the estimate fee was only $40. Remember? Someone seems upset.
The owner of the vehicle, states that they were informed of a $45 fee and would only pay that and no more. They were given this information by a man name Mike. Keenan knows nothing about this though.

The vehicle owner offered to pay for the fee over the phone after hours of fighting. (How else would the vehicle owner pay? They do not have a car, its in Keenan's possession) The owner of the vehicle caves after hours of trying to resolve the issue, even calls to the local police department. But is told by the police, I must be at Keenan when I call. (again, Keenan has my car, no way to get to Keenan)
So after caving, the owner decides to just pay, but that they would also have their lawyer contact Marc Carlin / Frank Giuliano due to the simple fact that they felt they were being ripped off. (Reason for this report on Rip off Report) Mind you, nothing was ever signed by the vehicle owner, NOTHING! They have no documents stating they have my authorization for anything. NOTHING.
Lesson 1: get your estimate quotes in writing! Especially if your stupid enough to go to Keenan Auto Body at 9300 Blue Grass Road in Philadelphia PA.
So, the payment was offered to be made over the phone via credit card, which was refused by Marc Carlin / Frank Giuliano. As Marc Carlin / Frank Giuliano stated, "We're not comfortable taking a credit card payment from YOU over the phone." They told me they wanted CASH ONLY. Sounds like DISCRIMINATION to me! Arrangements were made once again and the scum bags at Keenan Auto Body got their CASH! And I was denied a valid receipt. MMM wonder why? Its okay. I have my proof my car was there, they gave me the estimate with says they were gonna charge me for the frame damage the car DIDNT have. LIARS!
Lesson 2: Mechanics are scum.
So once the owner of the vehicle discovered the shadiness of Keenan Auto Body, with the hiding of SUPPOSED damages, and the overcharging of labor
(I know labor is expensive, but when Keenan Auto Body is charging DOUBLE TIME (hour wise) of what other auto bodies are charging, for the same exact repairs, one has to ask themselves, WHAT IS KEENAN AUTO BODY REALLY UP TOO?) Now how come it was going to take Keenan 7.5 hours to replace a part other body shops quoted a 2.5 hour repair? 5 hours is a big difference.
Overall, seems to me, Keenan Auto Body on Blue Grass Road in Philadelphia were upset over these unethical findings and did everything they could to get any kind of money from this situation. I hope by posting this report you do not use Keenan Auto Body @ the North East Auto Outlet.

They were given a chance to rectify the situation and all took the option not to. So as part of the general public being ripped off, I bringing it to your attention. BEWARE!
So the car was taken else where and GUESS WHAT?
NO FRAME damage. NONE, whatsoever according to this other body shop. Not an ounce of frame damage. So why was Keenan going to charge 5 hours of frame damage repairs?
