Mel Clayton Ford
I cant take it anymore! MCF blows!

I am a pretty easy going guy, even after all that Mel Clayton Ford has put me through but I have had enough and this is my story. Back in Jan. 2007 I filled out an on line application for a car loan, I had recieved many responses to my app. But one in particular caught my interest. It was a call from Mel Clayton Ford from a salesman who promised me that he could get me into the vehicle me and my family needed, I informed him that I live in Yuma and that if I had to drive three hours I only wanted to do it once. We made the drive. After about two hours there we were put into a 2005 Equinox, we were thrilled to say the least, it was exactly what we wanted. They took my trade, a 2002 Mercury Sable this car was in great shape but was a little to small for our family. Well now the nightmare begins, approx. Six weeks later we recieved a phone call from MCF stating that the bank would not finance this vehicle and that the bank wanted us in something newer. As much as I didnt want to make that drive back to Phoenix we did. On a saturday we arrived back at MCF with the notion that we will leave in something newer and the same size, well we were told upon arrival that that was not actually the case. We were shown the 2007 Ford focus and told that we were so upside down in the Sable that the 2500.00 rebate on the focus would help seal the deal (along with an additional 2500.00 down made by me) well reluctantly we proceeded with the deal and left in the focus (14500.00 and no power anything) Well about 6 weeks later after hearing nothing I got a call at work stating that they couldnt get us financed in that either, so I told them they would have to make arraingments to bring my trade to Yuma and pick up the f#$*us. I called the finance company that had the Sable and made a 600.00 payment on the spot to bring me current. 15 minutes later the phone rang again and it was MCF stating that financing had been found, meanwhile my fiance at the time placed a call to our salesman and told him we just wanted our trade back and that we would go elsewhere, she was informed that our trade had been sold (before being financed in our new car? Isnt that illegal?) at any rate I explaned to the salesman that I had just made a double payment to bring me current on the Sable, and in order to keep me in the deal he stated that he would knock that 600.00 off of the down that was owed so now I owe 1900.00. I agreed and they mailed me the contract to sign (the contract showed the cost of the car at over 17000.00. The first payment towards the down was taken from my account on the date agreed upon leaving 900.00 left to be taken out on a predetermined date. Well three months and 2 temp tags had gone past and the 900.00 still sat. I didnt feel it was my job to remind them of the arraingment and at this point was so disapointed in the whole thing that I pulled the money out of the account and waited to see if in fact that they had their game together enough to notice, meanwhile I had recieved 3 phone calls from MCF asking if I had puchased a 2002 Ford explorer, because they couldnt find it WHAT? Well 5 months later the call comes in about the 1500.00 still owed, I say no, only 900.00 they have no proof of that arraingement but agree to payments towards the 900.00 oh and no one that I had previously dealt with works for MCF anymore, these are all new Liars calling. Anyway I cant afford additional payments toward anything at this point because my fiance is in between jobs but I agreed to try, after MCF hounding me for the payments toward the 900.00 I decide to see how far they are willing to take this, after all I am the victim of a shoddy deal to say the least. I have a car that I am upside down in and everything else that they put us through makes me wish i had never heard of ths place before. I just got a phone call from a collection agency asking me how I would like to make arraingments to pay 2025.00 owed to Mel Clayton Ford. I told them that they would have to take me to court to get a dime. I hope I did the right thing. Stressed in Yuma... Can anyone help? After reading all of the complaints it seems like a class action would be in order. If only for the sake of taking these clowns out of buisness. I would kick them 900.00 right now but I will not and refuse to continue to play these games with such an ill-managed bunch of crooks. I can only pray they dont get a drop of sales for as long as it takes for them to go out of buisness. I hate them.
