I just found this web site and I am glad. I've had a few places screw me over and now I can do something about it... Kind of. I'm starting wth Master Collision in Brandon, Florida.
My car was wrecked due to a hit and run. (I was hit... They ran.) I took my car to Master Collision on high recommendations of my friends. They actually had gone to another one of their locations which was far away from where I lived at the time. This location was right down the street from me. Convenient, right?
Wrong! They had my car for 1 month. We had to keep calling them to check the status, since they never called us. Turns out, they ordered the wrong bumper. They had my car there. How could they order the wrong bumper?! They do this for a living!
Finally, one day, we called them and my car was ready. We dropped off the rental car, got a ride to the shop, and waited. And waited.
They couldn't get my car started. (Mind you, there had only been body damage. They had no engine repairs to do.) The battery was dead. They had to jump it to get the car out front for me. They let me look at my car. Not only were they giving t back to me with a dead battery, but it was filthy on the inside and outside. There was tape still stuck to my back window and the tinting on one of my side windows was ripped.
Since they never called me, they never attempted to find out if I would like a new headlight on the other side of my car (which I gladly would've paid for) to match the nice new one on fixed side. When we went in, I let the woman know how dirty my car was. She offered to have us come back another day during the week to have them clean it. That would've been nice had I not already told her they're closed by the time I get home from work during the week.
I was a little p.O.'d already, so I let it go. She told me I didn't owe anything. I knew I had a deductible, so I asked her, "Are you sure?" and that's quoting me exactly. She said she was positive, handed me the papers to sign my car back over to myself, and gave me my keys.
Off I went to get a new battery and to wash my car, which I found out then had paint overspray all over the windows and parts of my car they didn't have to touch. They had also cracked my fog light.
Now, they're calling me telling me I owe them all kinds of money. I'm just hoping this is my s#*% luck and that they aren't doing this to anyone else.
