Lets cut to the chase: I have been around the block on this and am frankly getting tired of the used car salesman game. My worst experience was with Clay Cooley/Ft Worth where they say they can help anyone and advertise no money down/199.99 per month.
I went there and they told my I was limited to 'the in house finance lot' which contained all of 6 cars to choose from. The salesman Robert was nice enuff but he talked a little too fast and too much for me. I settled on a a 2002 Nissan, that must have come from the Twillight Zone since it had no smog or registration sticker, no bells and whistles, and they asked for $13,989!!
That car didnt cost that much in 2002!! He 'went in' to the finance manager who was really feelin himself coz THEN they asked for a $5000.00 down pymt and wanted me to sign on for $600.00 a month notes!!! Thats a dayumm house payment!
I thought that was outrageous I guess they thought they were giving me a deal when they tried to get me to sign on for 450.00 per month! Finally they told me that was the best they could do and I walked out in the same position I walked in-with no car and an attitude.
I was not the only person to walk out that day unsatified. I have complained to what I thought was the corp offices-the lot in Dallas who invited me to come there and they could 'take care of me' but I feelin like I may get the same treatment with a different smile.
Clay Cooley's ads and TV spots are very misleading. While they tell you they will take care of you and treat you with all of this kindess, they only want to get your money and lock you into some bs that will cost you an arm and a leg till they eventually come get your car and sell the same bs to another sucker born that day!
