I ordered a pair of seats for my 1988 Mazda RX7 through the company Hyperformance Street Tuning Corp. The total cost of the seats was $438.88, and I was promised free shipping and delivery in within twenty business days. I thought that was mildly excessive since I live in southern California and they ship from City of Industry, California.

Two weeks passed from my order date and I still had not received an order number or a tracking number for my order, although the company had charged my bank account for the total cost. I sent them an email, and they assured me that it was of no consequence and that my order was on schedule. Twenty days passed, and I had not received my order, so I sent them another polite email requesting a tracking number, as they told me they had shipped through UPS.instead of sending me a tracking number they sent me the following statement: "You will have the products this comming week confirmed by our warehouses, we appreciate your understanding, thanks."

So I waited a week. A full ten days after the last email, I politely requested an order number or a shipping timetable again. They assured me "Your order has been processed according to our warehouse, please allow 5-7 business days for delivery. Thanks." Calling their posted toll-free number got me an answering machine, as did their long distance number. The posted email address for questions and customer service is invalid. After waiting a week, finally getting in contact with a service representative, and being asked to wait another week with still no products being delivered, I demanded a tracking number or a shipping timetable. They emailed me back: "hello sir, the black cloth are still on back order, if you wish we can upgrade your order to leather seats in black with red stitching, they are worth about $140 more than you paid but we can give them to you at no additional cost, let us know, thanks and we appreciate your business!"

I accepted their offer of the order upgrade, and was informed that the seats would be shipped promptly. A week later, I called and asked when I could expect my seats to arrive, as I needed them by a certain date 14 days later. I told them I was perfectly willing to pay additional shipping for the seats, and they assured me that no additional shipping was necessary and my seats should be on my doorstep in 3-5 days. Nine days later, I emailed them: "Hello, I would like a shipping tracking number, please. Thank you." Seven days later my seats finally arrived. They were not the black leather with red stitching I was promised, nor were they the original seats I had ordered.in fact, they did not even fit in my car, for which the year, make and model were stated in the original order.

Naturally, I requested an RMA, or an exchange at least. I haven't heard back from them since. I would advise everyone to stay well clear of Hyperformance Street Tuning Corp, and order parts elsewhere.
