Took my 1978 Pontiac Trans Am Bandit to Kanuseks to have insurance work done. My friend accidently backed into the left fender.
The job was to repair the fender and door and repaint the fender, door and fix the hood where the fender pushed into the corner, very small chip on hood. The paint is a simple basecoat black with a gold mica, very little mica. All pinstripes are cleaarcoated as well as the decals.
When I got a call about a week later saying that they put to much gold in the paint I was furious. The next day I went to see my car and found Donald Kanusek sanding on the fender. He said that trash had got in the paint from his cloths. The color was way off and the reason being is they put gold pearl instead of mica in the clear. They said they could not get mica and that it was not available anymore.
They offered to paint the car this really weird gold color over black.
They then said that I had to take the car because they kept a dog in the side gate and it mite damage the car. They also said that I needed to pay for the work done.
I wrote a check for the estimate amount of $938.00. I was to bring the car back in two weeks to see what could be done. After getting the car home I was finding all kinds of messed up defects in the paint, runs, trash, dull dry areas. I then decided that I did not want them to do anything else to my car due to the lack of experience in painting, that was obvious.
I myself have painted for many years until my back went out, and I know I could have done a better job painting in a dirt floor barn full of chickens.
I wanted my money back, I took them to court, They obviously knew a certain judge because they skipped out the date prior to this second court date with a lame excuse that his wife was epileptic and was having a seizure. I later found that to be a lie. Anyway the judge dismissed my case.
It seemed like the judge didn't even listen to anything I or my girlfriend was reporting. Im filing an appeal as this was obviously unjust. I will further report later.
