After I had reported my accident to the insurance company, I was told by them to use one of their collision companys.
I chose Jimmy's Steinwway Collision. Once the right fender was replaced and painted, after two years I noticed that it was fading and the bare metal was starting to show through.
I had gone back to the Collision Shop and the owner said it was my fault, that I polished the fender too soon, which I know is a complete fabrication of someone trying to get out of honoring re-doing a poor paint job.
I was told by the insurance company to go back to him and have it re-painted. The owner stated to me that he was no longer with Geico and I would have to go someware else.
I feel that if this was an inferior paint job this person should have the decency to honor his mistake.
What I would like to do rather than take him to small claims court, is to put a sign on my car that says "Look at the Great Paint Job that was done by Jimmy's Steinway Collision located at"!
I can't go to Gieco about this beacuse I had gone to the company that had gotten into the accident, and they had paid me for the damages.
Not knowing that if Geico did not pay me directly, they will not honor the repainting of the fender.
Unfortunately I was not aware of this. I still feel that an honest person would do what has to be done to correct the problem when he know full well that he had not done a quality job.
