Try to back out of coverage but service shop would not let them ripoff

Ok to every one that has had problems with first service I agree they are a horrible company but they will cover your warranty if you know your stuff.

I had an 2003 Isuzu Axiom with 98900k miles on it. The transmission started slipping lucky I moved since I bought the truck so I was not in the 40 mile range where I would have had to take it back to the dealer.instead I found the most expensive upscale transmission shop in the area and took my truck there. The shop dropped my pan and found severely burnt Trans fluid and chunks of metal in the pan.

This is signs of a bad tranny and only 1100 miles left on my 5 year 100k warranty. Lucky for me the Trans shop I took it two knew what they was doing when it came to these warranty companies. They gave them a call explained the issues with my trans and the first thing first service says was the trans went out cause it was not serviced so it voids the contract. The shop explained that the trans seemed to be in good condition and all areas of the cars to be in very well serviced condition as well as the transmission that when it came in did not have a leak and was full of tranny fluid.

The company then requested service records for the transmission in order for them to cover it. They wanted records that showed I serviced it at 30,60 and 90K. Which I did not have since I had never serviced the transmission because my owners manual say that a Axoim has a sealed transmission which means it does not have a dipstick and as long as it does not have a leak it will not need service for 120K miles. The shop gathered this information from my owners manual and faxed them the paper work that stated this.

Now first extended realized that legally they were bound to fix my tranny cause according to my manual my tranny should not have a problem for at least 120k. So they finally agreed that they would fix it but they told the shop that they would ship them a used tranny from Texas and for the shop to give me a warranty for 1100 miles to get me past there obligation. The transmission shop refused cause the tranny shops gives a 3yr 36K mile warranty on all there transmission work and will not warranty a used tranny.

The shop explained that the only way they will service my truck is with a brand new transmission or a full in-house rebuild with new parts. Keep in mind that this is happing over time and now my truck has been in the shop for a week now, seeing that the shop would not back down from not warranting my vehicle for 3 yr or 36k. They gave the approval to tear down the tranny.

The shop tore it down and called the first service back with what parts needed to be replaced after two days they ok for them to pay for my transmission rebuild, but refused to pay for new Trans fluid, filter a gasket. But my shop knew they were not going to pay for it so he quoted them 150 higher then what was actually needed to hide the cost of the fluid, filter and gasket. Total bill came out to be $3364 which two hundred I had to pay out of my pocket for deductible.

While my car was in the shop they only reimburse for a rental for 5 days even though they had my car tied up for 15 days 10 days tying to get them to cover it and 3 days for tear down and rebuild.

My advice to anyone with first service is to
1. Read your contract two know whats covered thats means leave the car dealership with a pamphlet.
2. Service your vehicle to the owners manual nothing less and keep all records even if you do it yourself.
3. Do not take your car back to the dealership you bought it at I recommend driving out of the 40 mile range and find the best shop you can that know how to work with warranty companies and will not settle for used parts to fix your car, many auto shops get tired of arguing to get them to pay that they give in when it comes to using used parts.

My service writer spent hours on the phone to get my tranny fixed correctly. An inexperience shop will not know what to say and a dealership wont put in the effort. Will I buy another extended warranty probably not cause for the 1100 I paid for the warranty when I bought the truck I could of bought a used tranny and put it in myself plus if your car is to break down when out of town like traveling on vacation your forced to leave your vehicle at a shop for two weeks or more to get a approval to get it fixed cause if you fix it yourslef in order to get home they will not reimburse you but I got lucky this time next time I might not be so lucky
