Fraudulent Adveritisements Ripoff

This past weekend I received a flyer and scratch off game card from a dealership in Springfield, New Jersey about an event called "Dash for the Cash." Basically it was a scratch off that let you get a chance to win a free car, money, a trip, or free gas. The card says "3 Like symbols in a row is a guaranteed winner!" and there is no legend to refer to that lets you know what qualifies as a winner of what prize. The symbols are a money stack, a car, a palm tree, and a gas pump. Its pretty obvious what 3 symbols will supposedly give you "x" prize. My card had 3 car symbols in a row (if you had nothing to refer to, you'd think you had won the car). I called the dealership, and was told by a young woman named "Linda" to come in to "verify" my card, because she couldn't tell me over the phone if I won or not... Maybe its too hard to say over the phone if you see 3 of xx you win xx. I told her that I didn't want to wast my time or theirs, so I wanted to know if this was a trick to try to make people buy a car, I was assured by her that it was not a "gimmick, " her exact description of the situation. After arriving at the dealership, which is about a half hour's drive from my house, I was told that the 3 car symbols meant I won a discount of $1,000 off a new car purchase. No where, on the card, letter/flyer, or finely printed "official rules" does it say anything about winning a discount. They gave me a voucher for free hotel accommodations, but no way of getting to the hotels, and sent me on my way. I wasn't told that I won the hotel stay, they gave it to me, even after I told them I didn't want it. This whole "game" is their way of playing with people to lure them in. They owe everyone who scratched off 3 car symbols a car! They're all lying snakes in my book! After leaving, because I didn't want to make a scene, and was tired of arguing with them, I called Linda back, and she gave me the "I don't know anything" excuse. Its amazing when some sales reps know nothing about what they're selling. This "game" of theirs will run until 4/30/07.
