My wife and I wanted to trade in our 96 Corvette for a newer car, so we went to Roswell Ford and they said they would take care of us.
We had to send the Corvette for some brake repair, which we paid for ourselves-$585.
We traded the car in and signed all the paperwork including the payoff on the Corvette and the finance manager told us the new car was ours (2004 Chevy Impala), I noticed there had been some damage to the car that happened in their sales lot that had not been there before but they just blew it off.
Roswell Ford had ran my wife and my credit through about 15 inquiries which took my wife's credit from about 575 down to 520.
My wife was transfered to another state with the same employer and Roswell Ford was notified, but the finance company that financed the car backed out on the deal and the dealership said they wanted their car back, so we took the car to a Ford dealership where my wife was working and turned the car in and Roswell Ford said we could come pick the Corvette back up.
In that period of time the Bank of the Southwest we were financing the Corvette through was supposed to be paid off but wasn't, putting us a month behind, wanted to know where their car was and even though the dealership knew where we were, they told the bank they did not know where we were so the bank repossesed the Corvette claiming we had abandoned it.
My wife and I tried to tell the bank what had happened but the did not care.
So they are going to sell the Corvette and are going to put a repossesion on my wife's credit report, making it even worse.
The whole deal was handled very unproffessionly and could have been avoided if these two businesses had any consideration for thei customers.
Roswell Ford lied to the Bank of the Southwest making us look bad and we lost a car that we NEEDED TO GET TO WORK WITH and we told the bank that we could catch up on the payments but they would not work with us.
These two businesses need to be reprimanded or sued so they will not do this to anyone else
