We bought our 97 venture from Paul White Chevrolet in 2000. The only thing that went wrong with the actual purchase was that amidst all the paper work was a paper that said they did not test the airbags, we later found out that the driver bag is missing.

Everything went smoothly until early 2002. I had a rear seal leak. (we all know what that means—labor) I also had an oil light that would not go off. We had purchased an extended warranty with our van, which means any authorized mechanic can fix it. Thornhill Supercenter is 5 minutes away from our home—they refused to fix it even though they honored this particular insurance warranty—because it wasn't purchased from them and I was close to the end of my warranty. (I was told by service at Thornhill that they could "lose money on that deal."

So I had to go back to Paul White. (1 1/2 hrs away) Of course I had to wait for A chance to have aomeone follow me over and bring me home.By this time I also had 2 rear broken seat brackets (the ones that remove the seats), sliding door window loose, seals broken on the headlights that caused one to fall out and I ran over it, Oil turning black (even though I changed it every 3,000 miles, and an overheated van on my way to nursing school! I was told by the dealership not to drive it because it would cause more damage. All tow services wanted $250-450 to tow this van. I had a friend tow it for the measly $100 that was covered under warranty.

Paul White took apart the van and had to wait on this insurance warranty company to send out an adjuster to say "yes something is wrong with this van." This only took 3 days, in the meantime the rental car that is covered under warranty (that White said "when you have to have it worked on, we'll give you one to drive off the lot.") had to wait on the adjuster to say "something is wrong".

My van was at paul white from Thrusday until Wednesday, I had a rental for 2 days. The rental company said all that was covered was a Geo Metro—Now we all know why people but vans—because they have kids—well I have 4 kids and 2 adults riding in my vehicle and ya know I don't remember Metro's having but 4 seatbelts. (another whole story)

When I picked up my van everyone in the shop was leaving and I was handed my keys, told to sign for it. I read over what had been done only to find out that the light covers and seals were not covered because they were cosidered body, (which warranty did not cover) seat brackets weren't covered because we had broken them because they would not open to clamp onto the rail to lock, rear seal was fixed, oil was black because radiator had a leak and radiator fluid got into oil. (Go figure that one) so they plugged the hole in the radiator.

Needless to say I still have black oil, 2 broken headlight seals, 1 broken headlight cover, a window that still rattles, an oil light that will not quit, and 2 broken rear seat brackets that will not let me remove the seats.

All in all Paul White did try, which Thornhill would not do.
When we were looking for a van Thornhill would not finance us even though they tried to use the same company the Paul White did.

I do like my van, it rides very smooth and gets good gas mileage. I will never buy another chevrolet because they will not fix their cars. I ahd one and my husband had one—we should have learned then, but we didn't.
