Ripoff incorrect diagnosis I paid did not receive what I paid for no refund of funds

I was told that a 81 mercedes cost $1900.00. I test drove it and had problems with the transmission. I was told it needed a new tranny and I would have to pay for it. I said I would pay half. That brought the price to $2150.00. I paid it, being he wouldn't fix it untill he got the money. The car didn't need a tranny, it needed bushings at the shift linkage. I did not receive a difference in the price. I thought I should pay half of the repair. They gave me nothing in return.
