I was contacted by Continental Warranty on 5/23/06. During a lengthy phone call I was lied to, pressured and deceived by their salesman. They promised an all inclusive warranty "bumper to bumper" only excluding brakes.
I was told that I could not call them back later (to give me time to investigate their company) because this special offer was only available on the first contact.
I was told that it would be risk free, because I would have thirty days to review the policy and cancel if I didn't want the coverage. I was also told that the refund would "be no hassle" as long as I cancelled within the allowed thirty days. The 'deposit' money would be credited back to my account upon cancelation.
All of their promises were lies as was the description of the warranty I would be receiving and the statement about their refund policy.
I am currently pursuing a consumer complaint with my state's Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau as well as this complaint.
All I want is an expedient refund of the money that I submitted in good faith. If that proves to be impossible than I would ultimately like to see this company barred from doing business with the people of my state and hopefully many others.
Do not get sucked in. The hassle is not worth it. If you want an extended warranty go to your local auto dealership.
