I purchased an older vehicle and had Discount Brake Tune N Lube put another engine in. They also claimed it needed another transmission, which I allowed them to do. Oddly, they had been the mechanic for my friend for several years who had been very happy with them.
However, they did a poor job. The engine was not properly installed. The transmission is shot. I spent well over $2,000 at their shop, and have spent almost $1,000 ficing what they screwed up. What is especially annoying is it will take an additional $3,500 to totally correct what they did wrong.
They removed the turn signal fuses and did not replace them. I drove all over town with no turn signals until I discovered this.
They left grease all over the steering wheel and the interior. There was also grease all over the exterior of the vehicle.
They have flat out denied any responsibility and will not honor their warranty. I emailed the owner and got no response. I printed and mailed the email to him with no response. I called and got no where. I went down last week and got no where.
An aside to this story is the work was done at a now defunct location at Bell Road and 34th Avenue. Visit there and the new people at that location will advise you that they get many people coming in to complain about Discount Brake's work. Apparently they suck at everything.
Oddly, I went to the Thomas and 42nd Street location, and one of the guys who worked on it at the now closed location is working there. He flat out denied being responsible for anything. This is a sleazy, incompetent establishment and should be avoided by everyone. I am putting up a web site about them.
