Complaint / Review
General Motors
Rip-off

I am writing to tell everyone what a horrible company GM is to do business with. We SmartLeased (dumb move) a 2004 Trailblazer about a year and a half ago. During the first 6 months of ownership, we had to take it to the dealer 18 times for various problems. These problems included paint defects, four wheel drive failure, tail lights, transmission, radio, computer failure and power window rattling, among others. One of these problems in particular, computer failure, could not be fixed despite many visits to the dealer.

This was one we could not live with since we never knew if the car would start on any given day. We contacted GM in the hopes of getting them to buy back the vehicle. We were even willing to take another Trailblazer in return. They were not willing to explore this option.

We then pursued lemon law arbitration. GM showed up for the hearing with a hot-shot lawyer (you know, the kind that sports gold cuff links to make up for other various short comings, YUK!) Anyway, after cross examining me like I was on trial for murder or something, and threatening the arbitrator with bad political publicity right in front of us, the lawyer won and here I am stuck with a hunk of crap car.

This just goes to show that 1.) GM does NOT stand behind their products 2.) They are willing to spend lots more money on lawyers than it would have cost to take the piece of crap back 3.) They are a loathesome corporation and cannot be trusted 4.) GM does produce lemons and there is nothing protecting consumers from getting one!

I will never buy gm again and will tell my story to everyone i know - please beware before you buy!!
