Ripoff car broke down 1 hour later, bad transmission, fuel pump, regulator, major damage to frame, car wrecked not notified texas

My son and I went to South Point Auto Sales and picked out a 1992 Mitsubishi. It seemed to be running well we test drove it for about 5 minutes. We gave them $500.00 down and we came back the next day to pick it up. My son only got 1 hour down the road when it wouldn't shift out of third gear and was cutting out like it wasn't getting fuel.

We took it back to them the next day at the Buda location. The owner cross examined us like we intentionally had done something to the car. He asked us to take it to the location on manchaca to have their mechanics look at it. The car stalled on the way there it took over an hour to get it to run and we were barely able to get it to the other location.

Days later they told us it just needed the fluid changed in the transmission and they put a new fuel pump and regulator on it. They wanted me to pay for all the expense. We ended up agreeing to pay half. My son was driving it home when he felt the back end start to sway. The body supports that were attached to the frame had been broken and welded back and the welds had given. We were not told that the car had been in an accident of any kind. The damage was major and we should have been told. All we were told was that the muffler had been changed because the previous buyer and crushed it by backing into something. We told the owner that we wanted to trade to another vehicle because of all the problems and he refused.

So we decided to have a body shop look at the damage to the frame and see if it could be repaired and if the car would be safe to drive, but he never made it there. After only about 2 hours of driving the engine light came on and then the oil pressure light came on. When my son pulled over to see what was wrong he found the oil filter had been blown loose from the engine. He called a mechanic who came and looked at the car and told him the engine was blown and would have to be replaced.

We feel the car company owes us back the down payment and also money for repairs we paid. The owner Mark Tolar has refused to compensate us in any way for this vehicle and tells us that we purchased it as is. Maybe so but you would expect to be told of major damage and it should run more than a few hours.
