Between 1999 and 2003 General Motors Knew about a problem with the rear energency brake clips that hold the shoes in place. I recently found that General Motors knew about the problem and designed a new style clip in 2004. Due to the bad design between 1999 and 2003 the clip would break causing 1000.00 () damages to the rear breaking system. The defected part will cause the rear end axle bearing to leak causing a possible fire hazard.
