Sunderhaus Motor Company ripoff

I purchased this vehicle from a used car dealer in the town of findlay OH Sunderhaus Motors. The vehicle has about 50K miles on it and is in great condition or so I thought.

When I went in to purchase the vehicle the dealers representative gave me very few papers to fill out which included a limited 30 day warranty on the vehicle. I was offered no other additional warranty's on the vehicle. Also, I was given no copies of the paperwork with the exception of the temporary registration to take to get the tags switched over; the rep indicated that the bank would send me copies of all the forms at a later time.

I have paid 2 payments on the vehicle so far. I was driving back from lunch and the check engine light came on and the vehicle just died in the middle of an intersection. I had the vehicle towed to my local mechanic and they advised me that the timing belt had broken and that the entire engine would need to be taken out to "see what the problem is" and that I would more than likely have to replace the entire engine, and that the cost was going to be more than $2000 dollars.

I purchased the vehicle for $7995. I then called up the dealership, as I work for the president of a local company and I have had several "dealings" with the owner of the car place that I purchased the vehicle. I told him what had happened he indicated that he was sorry and that he would contact the repair shop to see what the specifics were on the vehicle.

He called them then called me back directly and indicated " your right it is a piece of crap" and that he doesn't have to do anything for me but he will try to see if they can get me an engine at a lower price, to "save me some money". He also indicated that the vehicle was a previously leased vehicle that was purchased from a bank and that you "just never know what you are getting from them".

Bill Sunderhaus has pretty much told me that it is my problem not his. Bill Sunderhaus indicated that since I didn't purchase an extended warranty (that was not even offered) that he didn't have to help me and I was on my own.

I purchased a lemon and I want people to know about it. If Sunderhaus motors was a reputable business they would have taken at least some responsibility for the lemon that I was sold since this is a small town with several used car dealers.
