I was searched for new quote for my car Insurance (I was client with State Farm), I found Safeco gave me a good big deal price because i can save about $ 30 / month
I called Safeco agent and made appointment, I came down to their office and she asked me to fill up some more paper and signed the agreement with Safeco and she knew I already got my quote by online with price $ 390.81 for 6 months. Before I left her office, she asked me to fax or e-mail my car Insurance policy from State Farm to her office. I did as what she asked me after I got home but I felt its so not right.
In 2 weeks I reveived letter from Safeco which said they changed my policy from pice $ 390.81 become $ 582.38 without any explanation "WHY" in the letter. I called the agent and spoke to her and asked why they changed the policy. She said because I couldn't provide the new policy from State Farm effective July - 2006 which showed detail about coverage and premiums charged. I said I sent already but the due date is for Jan to July It was because i didn't received my new policy from State Farm that time BUT I HAVE MY NEW CARD CAR INSURANCE FOR JULY TO JAN.
She kept saying that is not enough approved that I have car Insurance before I joined with Safeco. I called and checked with some Insurance company, Is it requirement to show copy policy from another Insurance company if we want to joint and become new member and the answer is IS NOT REQUIREMENT.
I think this company doing unhealthy and dishonest business, and try to take advantage to their client. Because they gave online quote but when you want to joint you have to show old policy from your old Insurance company. Then if they thought their price which they gave by online to low or a lot different they will raised and changed the policy with UNREASONABLE REASON.
