I purchased a used vehicle for a friend that had just started a new job out of town. The vehicle was sold to us as a 1988 Chrysler New Yorker. We knew it had a few problems because it didn't want to start when they showed it to us, but my friend has a relative that does mechanic work so we figured he could clean the battery and we would be set (That's what the salesman told us too). So they jump started it and we went on our way (after paying in full).
When we started purchasing parts for it nothing seemed to work. It even broke down once when I drove it to the parts store. I had to take time off work and let my friends use my car to travel to their work out of town.
I rented another vehicle to make a trip that I had already planned for the next weekend and my friends took the vehicle to a repair shop to put it on a dianogistic machine. Well, we found out alright what was really wrong! It's a 1986 not a 1988, so all along we have been purchasing the wrong parts for the relative to work with (When he first looked at the vehicle he had warned us it wasn't a 1988 like they were saying on all the papers that we had with the vehicle) but we believed the salesman (named SNOOPY) and all the paperwork we had with us. So now we have a vehicle that still doesn't run and have lost time off from work and rental vehcile costs. We contacted the dealership and they said you purchased it as is. Sure we did but we purchased a 1988 not a 1986 like you advertised! This is falsification of a document.
I want my money back, plus time lost from work, and the rental vehicle costs. If they don't hurry up and make this right, I will probably loose my job, and need to seek MENTAL help. Please help!
