I went to toyota of glendale after i had a tune-up done on my car. I told them that the car was stubling and hesitating at times but mainly when i trying to go faster.
They charged me $80.00 for a diagnose. They told me that i needed to relace the engine ignitor which they did not have at this time (it was a friday-8/5/05), they would not be able to get the part till tuesday. I was not able to wait as i had to work on that day. And that the part would cost about $325.00.
So i went to other auto and told them what toyota said that i needed done on my car and they said they could replace this part the next morning for me at the cost of part $220.00, and labor of $37.50.
So i told them i would have them do it as toyota said that i needed the part replaced. And that they could do it faster and cheaper that toyota said they could do it.
So saturday morning on 8/6/05, i replaced the part and the car seemed to run better, but then i got on the freeway and it started to do the same thing and i was getting mad.
So i talked the guys at work and was told that the part i had replaced was wrong that my car would not have ran if it was that part. So i went to a shop one of the guys recommened that would not ripp me off. And found out that the problem was that i had put in the wrong spark plugs and had them replaced and the car ran fine and has sence then.
I went back to toyota and they told me sorry we can refund me the $80.00 but that i had the work done somewere else that they would not refund me the $275.65 that i paid to pepboys as they didn't do the work.
I feel that this is wrong as i would not have had the work done there if they had the part at toyota i would have had the work done at toyota at that time.
I feel THAT TOYOTA should have given me the money back that i had to pay out as it was there diagnoses that was wrong as i would not have had the part replaced if they hadn't told me that was a bad part.
I feel that i was ripped off by them because i was just doing what they said that need to be done to fix my car...
