Around Nov. Of I went to Van Boxtel Auto Credit in Green Bay WI, I was greeted by Mr. Tom Besaw. I saw a "nice looking" car in the back lot that had just come out of inspection. I told Tom that I liked that car. I then purchased this car. A short time later, I lost my job and called Van Boxtel that I didn't think that I would be able to make the payments. Tom then told me that it was okay, that I didn't have the car very long so they could take the car back and re-sell it on the lot, me being somewhat nieve, believed them. I then, four months later aftegetting a new job get an e-mail from my payroll dept. Stating that they had to withhold 20% of my disposable income for VB Auto credit. I called Van Boxtel and they said that since they sold the car for less than I had owed on it that I owed the rest. I said, isn't it illegal to take money out of someone's paycheck without a court order? They said that they had one, and that I never showed up for court. I never received any paperwork regarding a court hearing!
I asked VB about this, and they told me that they sent it to my address, but the address that they sent it to wasn't my address, it was my previous address! Even though they came to my current address to get the car, they still sent the paperwork to the wrong address. I talked then to Tom Besaw again, asking if there was anything that I could do, and he said that if I came in and bought a different car that he could either make the previous loan "go away", or at least make it a lot smaller amount. I then said sure, and I went to VB at the time that Tom had asked me to, and low and behold he wasn't there! Some lady came up to me, took my info, and said that they could not help me because I owed them money, and said that Tom would never tell me that he would help me with the previous loan if I bought a new car. I left there, and was so angry that I could have screamed! This is the last time that I go to them for anything. I sure hope that you can help me, I have a wife and two children at home, and the amount that they are taking out of my checks is killing me! I have been forced to sell almost everything that I own because of them, I don't see how they can make me pay for a car that I don't even have, especially when they told me that they would just put it back on the lot.
