Complete Automotive Repair Services (AKA C.A.R.S.) is an extented warrantee company. I bought the coverage, and it plain sucks. They will do anything they can not to make it covered. Here are some examples
I've had 3 window motors repaired that "were not covered per the contract". The windows did not roll up or down, and all were diagnosed as "a broken regulator", but for the car I drive, the regulator and motor are one component. That is approx $500 a pop not covered.
Today, just replaced a fuel pump that was leaking gas. The cause was a split in the plastic casing module that the pump is a part of. Again, under the contract, the pump is covered, but the plastic component is not, even if they are all one piece.
They did pay out one time, for $3000 of work, received approx. $400 in coverage. They only pay for parts that are used or they can find at "their price". Labor rates they cover are no where near reality any more.
Found out from a mechanic, is some states, this type of warantee is considered "Mechanical Breakdown Insurance" and is regulated by the insurance commission of that state. Check with your local authorities to see if you can cancel and get a pro-rated refund.
