EnCompass Insurance Company Dropping 11 year consumer after auto claim involving lawsuit from pre-dated injuries from other party

We were unaware we had been cancelled until March 8th when I called customer service to see where my monthly bill was. At this time, I informed them I had paid my premium through February and the checks had been cashed. I had sent in a premium of 228.00 b/fore recieving a renewal policy of 401.00. I called customer service as I usually do since my agent retired years ago when they were CNA. She told me to send the remaing balance of 173.13 and I did.

March 12 I recieved my policy updates that I had made with custumer service. I also recieved a telephone call from Greg Price stating that the girl that was involved in the accident was trying to claim pre-dated injuries, and that all was fine, we were covered. He stated that if I heard from them to let him know. I heard nothing until Guy Self contacted me 3 weeks ago, stating that they were not covering the accident, and that we were cancelled feb 2 the day of the accident, due to a late parcial payment of $173.13.

This was all new to me. I never received any notification of cancelation at all. They cashed both my checks, and also sent me my new policy, with the up-dates I made on the phone with customer service, along with my new insurance cards for my vehicles. Apparently they did not realize they had cancelled me either. Again they did not remove my daughter from the policy. I feel this is a terrible injustice to back up over 6 weeks & cancel me to avoid paying the claim. They sent me a parcial refund of &168.13 at the end of march.

This all was a shock, since they sent out an adjuster to examine the car, right after the accident, and continued to act as if all was fine until March 8th, when I made the call to customer service for the bill I did not receive.

All my dealings had been directly with the company this way. I had tried to get them to remove my daughter off the policy for some time since her marriage in September. Still no success. I feel they owe me a refund on her coverage since October. She has carried her own. Could you offer any assistance?
