I went to pepboys for an allingment on a 1996 chevy corscia. I was informed that the alingment was not possible due to the control arm bushings were bad. I was then given an estimate of over 600 dollars because the bushings could not be replaced the whole lower control arms needed replaced. I came home and started to call outher repair shops and found that the bushings are replaceable.
I removed the lower control arm on the right side and removed the bushing which i found the bushing in exellent condition. I've ordered the bushings from NAPA for about 30 dollars. On further inspection i found on the left side (drivers side) that 2 out of 5 lug nuts were missing.
I went back to pepboys to complain and they told me that they were striped out when the car came in. I was never told that they were never put back on. I went back home and with my 1/2" tourque wrench and found that the 2 lug nuts were not stripped. That is after i picked up my child from the sitters. I'm a heavy equipment operator for I.U.O. E local#18 part of my job is to repair the equipment when needed so i have a lot of experiance in the repair side of the business and i am trully disapointed at pepboys disreguard of the people who can preform these repairs when the majority of there business is from people like myself. Thank you
