This is hard for me to write because in order for me to do so, I first had to admit that I was duped. My story is this...
January 26. I had just worked out a deal on a 2001 Ford Focus ZX3 with my salesman, Tom Higgins. I was eighteen years old and immensely excited about my new purchase. I did my homework and knew what I should pay for the car. The price was right, and so a deal was struck.
Tom proceeded to direct me to the financing department. This is where the nightmare took place. The Finance Officer's name was Kevin. I cannot recall his last name. This unscrupulous man took advantage of a "green" consumer by telling me I HAD to purchase an extended warranty, maintenance warranty, GAP insurance, and various other "extras." Of course, that is not true.
The next day, I realized what had happened and went back to Koons to fix this problem and hopefully get Kevin fired. However, they told me the deal was already made and thay they couldn't help me. They told me to QUOTE, "... Bite the bullet." I ended up owing $21,000 for a FORD FOCUS! My payments are $455 per month, for 60 months!
My advice to you is do not go to this dealership because you WILL be taken advantage of in the financing department. If anybody knows any recourse I can take, PLEASE let me know.
