I was in the process of getting myself back together after a terrible divorce.
I went to JD Byrider for a car and it went all the way down hill from there. First off, they would not give me a choice of what car I thought would work for me but instead told me what car they would offer me. I was then forced to purchase their life insurance before I could even drive this car off the lot.
The finance person assured me that my payments would be reasonable. After I made the desperate move and signed the papers, they dropped the bomb on me that my payments would be bi-weekly with an interest rate of almost 30% and a daily interest charge for each day late.
In less than a week after I had the car, it stopped working on me. I had to pay to get it towed to JD Byrider. They had to replace the water pump and charged me $100.00 for parts.
Less than three months later, I had to have the Oil Gasket cover valve replaced with a charge to me of $520.00 because JD Byrider stated they had to remove the entire engine and that it wasn't covered in my warranty.
About a month after that, I had to have some break shoes replaced and get a rebuild transmission. All at my own personal cost.
Because if this financial bind with replacing parts and having costly repairs, I was sometimes late on payments. Never over 12 days late. CNAC would harass me, and I do mean harass me, call my job, my home several times per day sometimes over 5 times each place, and every reference I placed on my application.
It got to the point that when ever I was late with payment, they would contact my reference to tell them all first as though I was running from some Bounty Hunters. This was used to embarass me. There is a constant reminder from them of how wonderful they were for taking a divorced person like me and giving her a car.
To this day, they call my sister's cell phone even though she asked them not to. I mean I could be one day late and they are hounding me down through my references. I am in the process of trying to sell the car though no one wants it. It's an older car, full of problems and I still owe $6800 on it!
I wished I would have known then what I know now! I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
I was truly taken advantage of.
