Interview in Which Manpower Recruiter Spoke of Past Relationships

I went in for an interview in May. I don't remember the exact day. It was for a second time with Mr. John Jordan, Regional recruiter in Houston, TX. He was interviewing for KB Homes. He started by asking me how to pronounce my name. Then he began with his story of living in Europe for 5 years. Rapidly it became a one sided conversation of his disability for a few years. He also spoke about how he had gotten married to a lady about his age but that he had had a few girlfriends while dating his current wife. One was as young as 32. He told me he was in his 60s. I kept on listening him because I am latina, raised many years in South America by a missionary mother so it would have been rude to have stopped him and I was pretty much confused.

I felt pretty uncomfortable but I have never had an interview like this. (I just graduated college and have had very few jobs and the interviews were pretty much looking at my CV and asking questions about my past experience and where I see myself with the company). I finally was asked about my resume but by that time the interview had consisted in me being informed about his dating habits, school, living abroad, daughter and her school, his disability, school loans for his daughter. I did not speak about myself more than 5 minutes out of the hour. Called my friend and told him about the interview and how it has been very awkward and he said it was improper. I wish I could have had an interview with someone that had focused on me and not about his personal life. Someone should inform Manpower about Mr. Jordan's interviewing techniques.
