We recently entered a BBQ contests in Arizona promoted by Whiskey Ranch BBQ catering co. This was in Prescott Az. And was not as advertised. We were supposed to be set-up in a large Beer Garden type set-up, but that never happened, in fact there was no real Beer garden to speak of, just a tiny area, that we aere not in. We also were told there would be an enourmous amount of advertising for this event and we would have, quote"thousands of people there to sell BBQ samples to"there were very few people and alot of people told us that they didn't really know anything about the contest or BBQ being sold that weekend.
We bought (spent large amounts of money) and cooked a large quantity of great BBQ, but sold little because we think most people ate before they came, or bought food from the vendors that were located inside an air conditioned arena. There was no local, nor Arizona advertising to let people know about this event, so all of the teams that participated spent alot of money, time, and effort, all lost after paying $250.00 to enter this contest! We traveled from out of state and paid alot of money to Tom Duncan to be there. We had heard of silimar stories about this guy, but decided to give him a chance. Beware of this guy, he still does contest's around the state of Arizona, and cannot be trusted, and you will be dissapointed and what you get!
