Re: Our Recent Experience at your Restaurant

Dear Mr. Goodlesky,

On June 20th my family and I decided to celebrate Fathers Day at your establishment. This economy has not been easy and we hadnt been out to dinner in over three months so we were very excited when we were able to afford a night out with our family. We ordered our meal and had some drinks. I ordered a diet coke, which I had to ask for twice and which arrived right before our food. When our food did arrive the busser spilled the entire contents of the full soda onto me and my purse, completely drenching me from the waist down. Accidents happen and that is not why I am writing this letter today. I am absolutely appalled and insulted by the lack of respect we were shown by the management after this incident. After I returned from cleaning up as well as I could I noticed the server had gotten my order wrong. It was an easy mistake; I ordered the Victorias filet special, with the crab legs., she put in for a reg. Victorias filet. We had to leave immediately as it was not comfortable to be wet, in an air conditioned restaurant, with all the other diners watching the commotion. We had to wait on the crab legs, and while waiting the manager on duty came by and told us she would graciously not charge us for the servers error, which amounted to $6. She didnt even offer to take off the drink that was spilled all over my purse and myself! No one even offered to provide us with napkins for me to sit on for the ride home. Now I have a sticky front passenger seat that I will have to clean this weekend. To add insult to injury she made the obviously transparent and lame offer to pay for my dry cleaning, if necessary. Since I was wearing jeans at the time it was pretty obvious I would not have to take her up on that offer and I pointed this fact out.

We had to go home so I could shower and change.By the time I was cleaned up we missed the showing of the movie we had been planning on seeing and the next show was too late for the kids to go to so we ended up staying home, reheating the food wed brought home, on our own plates, which I had to wash afterward. Is this how you would want to be treated if you were out to dinner with your family? I feel like we were robbed. After spending over $70 on dinner and $12 at the bar, while waiting on our reservation, we ended up with a night at home. Had I wanted to stay home and reheat a meal, sitting in front of my t.V., I could have done so for far less and enjoyed myself far more. It would have been a much less humiliating experience.

Needless to say I am not eager to visit your establishment in the foreseeable future. I would have made my dismay known at the time however I was trying to hold back tears and to get out of there as fast as possible. I can not believe the complete lack of respect we were shown. Again, I do not blame the wait staff or the busser, but the management in their complete lack of professionalism in handling this incident.
