Patron Beware...
Annie's Panda Garden of Vallejo, California is one of the most horrendous Chinese restaurants I have ever been to. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but the problem is that it is getting a 4-star rating on Yelp. I understand that there are restaurants that can be described as "dive gems", places that are somewhat unclean but the food can be described as absolutely delectable. Annie's Panda Garden is *NOT* one of
those places. The food not only wreaks of essence of re-heated frozen, the restaurant itself is very unsanitary, my dish had a disgusting "grease film" for example. The food is indeed cheap and plentiful, but quality is horribly low. Not 4-star material by any means.
Yelp's business plan is flawed. The children
of business owners, or the business owners themselves regularly pump up the ratings of their businesses using either fraudulent/fake accounts or enlisting friends to enter pie in the sky (5-star) reviews. Annie's Panda Garden is actually a "sponsored" restaurant, therefore they get even more attention (top of searches) and a wealth of suspiciously positive reviews.
I know that there is probably not a very large selection
of Chinese food in Vallejo, but Annie's is far from being a 4-star establishment.
