Sickened and Blown off by Zaxby's Franchise

On 10-18-08 we ordered 100 hot wings from Zaxby's and I went and picked them up. When I got home I set them out for the family to start eating while my daughter-in-law and I went to check on my 7 day old granddaughter.

My husband and the rest of the family commenced to eating hot wings and fries. When I joined them a short time later and began eating after eating 4 wings or so I noticed the bloody meat left on the wing I had just eaten off of.

I told everyone to stop eating the wings, my husband called the store and asked to speak to a manager, he was told that she would be back in 5 minutes and to call back. He called back and was told the manager wasn't in and wouldn't be in until morning.By 4 am I was in pain and had diarrhea as did my husband and my 17 year old son had thrown up. After a rough night we got up Sunday afternoon and called the store at 2pm, they said they would have a manager call, however by evening still no call. He called again and was told that the general manager would call him back, she did and said that she would have the district manager call one of us back.

My husband told the GM that we wanted our money back for the wings considering they were raw and had made us sick, the GM said they could not do that. After a ton of calls back and forth with the store I took the wings, the uneaten and raw bones that didn't get thrown away up to the store to meet with the district manager.

The district manager, Sherry didn't care to see what her store had served my family, she was only interested in counting the wings left. She offered to refund the money for 50 wings. I told her that was unacceptable and that I would just contact the corporate customer service.

At this point, NO employee of the Jefferson Georgia location of ZAXBY'S ever apologized for sending me home to feed my family undercooked chicken and making us sick. I was livid!

After leaving the store with my raw chicken wings and bones, I was called by the "Franchise Owner" Tracy Perry. He apologize for the chicken but said that his district manager had offered to refund 50 wings and that was all they were going to do. I told him I found that completely unacceptable and that instead, I would contact my doctor get a fecal culture and to find out what they had infected me with, contact the local health department and the corporate customer care.

He said that I shouldn't threaten him, (yeah instead of threatening my family, his store tried to kill mine with out ANY advanced notice!)

I have not spoken with corporate yet, but I will this after noon, I have to decide if I should go to the doctor or just ride it out. The whole thing just ticks me off! Samonella could kill my 12 year old son while he is going through Chemo and Tracy Perry, OWNER, Zaxby's of Jefferson Georgia thinks that SORRY and giving me half the cost of the wings is enough. I expect that they will refund the full cost of the hot wings plus pay any and all doctor's bills arising from their negligence.
