Carl's Jr. Conducted a fundraiser at our school on two seperate occasions during our football games. It is called the Carl's Jr. Burger Benefit Fundraiser.
According to the contract, Carl's Jr. Restaurants agree to donate 25% of all Carl's Jr. And Green Burrito food and beverage sales from purchases made at the event. Carl's Jr. Also agreed (according to contract) to "keep accurate record of the sales credited to the organization and to make those records available to the organization within 30-60 days of the event." My specific event took place on November 9. It is April 3, and our school is yet to receive our portion of the fundraiser.
I have contacted the three individuals mentioned above on numerous occasions. The other advisor whom also held the same fundraiser on October 19, has also called on numerous occasions. Each time we call, there is always some thing else that they need from our organization in order to process our check. First, they claimed that their corporate offices were in the process of moving to a new location and were backed up with paperwork. Then they claimed that the check should arrive within a couple of weeks. That was three months ago. Then they claimed they needed a completed W9 form from our organization. Fine. This is something they should have provided us with prior to the contract agreement. We sent the forms. That was four months ago. No payment.
The disheartening fact about this entire situation is that the students are the ones that are being cheated and stolen from. They used our school, our students, and our attendees to make money. With the State budget cuts, our kids need this money more than ever. The end of the school year is right around the corner, and I believe our kids that are graduating in two months will certainly not benefit from this fundraiser. This money is necessary for our student body to hold assemblies or various events. Thanks to Carl's Jr. Some of those events have been cancelled.
I don't know if Carl's Jr. Will ever pay our students what they owe them, but I hope that someone in their corporate office will investigate this matter in order to prevent further problems. I am very curious as to how many schools they have done this to. Our school will never use Carl's Jr. For any type of fundraising... in fact, we are glad there is NOT a Carl's Jr.in our town.
