My family went to Shoneys for the breakfast buffet New Years Day which was on a Tuesday. Shoneys had been advertising on TV that the breakfast buffet was $4.99 every Monday through Friday for a limited time. When we got the check, it was for $7.49 per person. When I went to pay, a man was at the register that appeared to be the manager. I told him the price was supposed to be $4.99 on weekdays. He said "Not on Holidays". I went ahead and paid without raising a big stink because I wasn't sure if the commercial had a exclusion for holidays. A couple of days later, I saw the advertisement again. They said EVERY Monday through Friday. There was no mention of holidays being excluded and there was no mention of it in the small print at the bottom of the screen.
Shoney's served hundreds of breakfasts that day and apparently overcharged everyone by $2.50. What a ripoff.
