First off i would like to say that i enjoy working at dominos pizza and that the enviroment i work in is great, the people are awesome and pretty much its a good time,
But this isnt only about me, its about all the other delivery drivers that work in my 5 store area. And the complete greed and untrustworthy people at the top. Mike Villereal (the owner) Jeff villereal (co owner) and Thurman Etchison (the Gm's manager)
First of all, at this moment the delivery charge at our store is 1.25 (taxed as well) ILLEGALLY thats the besides the point, but its 1.25, the delivery rate that we drivers get is a meager. 70 cents per run. Which is horrible considering that gas prices are at 2.79 right now for regular. Now ever since this dominos instituted the 1.25 delivery charge, many of the drivers have came to me and said they have experienced a drop in there tips due to the fact that we are directed to inform the customer that there is a delivery charge included in the total, which is fine and fair we have to tell them, what isnt fine and fair is that the villereals are profiting off there delivery charge thus profiting and stealing from there employees. Every run we drivers take for them we are pretty much donating. 55 cents to them, if i take twenty runs during a day, thats 11.00 dollars a day on average, later drivers then me that can take up to 45 runs a night are really the ones buying them the new yukon denali's and jeeps... They keep saying that they are going to raise our rate up to. 90 cents, but still i feel like im still donating money i feel like i deserve to them, we as drivers already are doing them the service of delivering there product promptly and on time, and also being the true face of the company on every run, first impressions make all the difference and if a customer does have a complaint we are usually the first person there to deal with it and usually we are able to solve their problems. We deserve better in the champaign urbana delivery area, and i truly believe that unless we drivers do something profound like just walking out or striking nothing will ever be accomplished, i believe that we are entitled to 1.25 per run, due to the fact its called a DELIVERY CHARGE!!!
In close, Hopefully someone reads this from my area and understands what we delivery drivers go through here in champaign/urbana Illinois... I am just touching on some of the problems that could be easily resolved here, and if anyone would like to here anymore just write your response here ill check up on it. Thanks
