We have been fighting with EBS for almost 2 1/2 years now. They hold out morgage. Our problems started in 2012 when my husband lost his job due to company relocation - so he went and found a different job. But this one was @ a 4 dollar pat cut. Talked to EBS. Sure we can help, we will do a modification - I was told all the late fees would not acclimated - At that cut in pay, it didn't take long to fall behind again. Another modication - this is when I found out that EBS was charging us 13% interest! This modification isn't doing any good if the interest remains that high. Commenting on this several times Ebs blew me off. After one yr, my husband found a much better paying job, great - we can get things rolling. It took 2 yrs. To get this way - no one can pull them selves out in 3 mths! Its now 10 mths and we have not gotten anything done. There is just enough money to do around, providing there is not anything devistating, Well May of this yr we suffered a tornado and here was 10 grand of damage. Wow, now if we pay the deductable of 1,000- we have no money for house payment. We made the decision to pay deductable to get house fixed. EBS had a coronary! I had to call contractors and tell them not to deposit the check, well that took time. Then re issue one for EBS. O my god!!! So with this, we got behind, I really dont thing we really got ahead. Now I get a paper that tells us we need 9 grand to keep this house - in I mth! No way! Then this past July, i suffered a accident at my work, I fell and fractured my upper arm in 3 places, cant work, The first thin out of heir mouth is - did it happen at work, and are you getting paid??? Yeh, not much. Things came crashing down pretty quickly. I did some investigating and EBS has a pretty cluttered predatory history. Not only high interest rates, but unfair practices. I want to stay here!
