I received a telephone call at 09:04 AM on 10/05 stating that I owed them $5000.00 dollars for a pay day loan. I told them I had never received any such funds. They then stated that I must be lying and they were going to garnish my wages. I proceeded to ask them to submit proof that they had either sent me the funds or confirm that I had received such funds, and they proceeded to hang up on me. I am concerned that they may be targeting the elderly, disabled, or people who may not be able to manage their own finances and may fall victim to this by blindly giving out credit card or other personal information, especially if they feel threatened with either possible wage garnishment, benefit garnishment, or other "strong arm" means of attempting to collect money from vulnerable people who do not owe them these funds.
